"PLANTING SEEDS, PLOWING THROUGH THE DARKNESS"

The picture to the left is not just a random soldier we pulled off of the internet.  The picture is Sargent Gabriel P. Nix.  He is an integral part of the BCF team and served in the Iraq War.  Gabe helps BCF find the right candidates for our military intern farming program.  Once Gabe has selected the right candidates, they actually work and learn side by side with Jonathan Lawler, our Executive Director.

Jonathan has had the opportunity to sit in on veteran farming workshops and seminars.  Those Seminars provide a lot of great info, However Jonathan and Gabe feel that they left the veterans who attend lacking.  If a returning veteran already has some farm experience, a week long course or seminar might be a great refresher for them to get back up to speed.  But a lot of those who attend have zero agricultural experience and will be starting from scratch.  That is why they created the BCF PATRIOT FARMER PROGRAM.
